Manager, Financial Reporting

Pay Rate : $ 90,000.00 - 110,000.00 /Year
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of our external SEC reporting as well as direct involvement and review of the consolidation process in BPC.
  • Manages the preparation of SEC filings, including Annual Form 10-K, Quarterly Form 10-Q and other required filings. This includes the preparation of MD&A section and all the footnotes to the financial statements and the detailed review of the financial statements disclosures, the tie-out information for notes to the financial statements, and completion of disclosure controls and procedures related to internal control over financial reporting.
  • Coordinates various monthly and quarterly reporting activities including acquisitions and divestitures, restructuring analysis, defined benefit plans review, derivative financial instruments review, monthly cash reports and other pertinent analyses.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance, and distribution of accounting policies; consult with operating companies in application of our policies.
  • Interact with external auditors, internal auditors and actuaries for preparation of the Company's regulatory filings.
  • Monitors regulatory developments with regard to proposed and current SEC rules, FASB pronouncements and other relevant promulgations.
  • Manages research of GAAP literature to analyze technical accounting issues and develop solutions.
  • Assists the organization's operating companies and corporate accounting department on technical accounting matters including defined benefit plans, acquisition accounting, share based compensation, derivatives, restructuring, EPS and revenue recognition.
  • Manages the preparation and review of goodwill and indefinite-lived intangible asset testing.
  • Responsible for managing the assigned special projects. 
  • B.A/B.S. in Accounting with 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in external reporting (required).
  • CPA required.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred, with public company clients.
  • Possess technical expertise related to GAAP and external reporting including, but not limited to, SEC reporting, business combinations, pension accounting, intangible assets, revenue recognition and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Demonstrated recent experience in researching and preparing technical accounting memorandums for complex issues and new pronouncements.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Exceptional work ethic.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with deadlines.
  • SAP/BPC experience a plus.
