Technical Writer

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:
Creation and maintenance of user-friendly documentation and product documentation based on existing user documentation, software functional specifications, and knowledge of client's products.
Creation and maintenance of documents such as: user guides, installations manuals, release notes, end user product specifications and product compatibility guides.
Creation and maintenance user-friendly release notes based on information gleaned from the ICU entry, the Product Development department, and use cases
Creation and maintenance of a user-friendly, on-screen help system(s) based on existing user documentation, software functional specifications, and knowledge of Client's products
Work independently when appropriate; successfully as a team member in a team environment
Completion of assignments in timely manner
Ability to work with others to collect documentation input
Familiarity of software development lifecycles would be desirable
Ability to drive comments and questions to closure
Successful prioritization of subtasks
Production of quality business communications and materials for clients
Successful multitasking in a rapidly changing environment
Knowledge of informational resources at the client's (personnel or data) and demonstrated utilization of those resources
Demonstration of use of client's products when documenting specific parts of the product

QUALIFICATIONS
Interact well with people
Proven ability to write clearly and concisely
Research and evaluate new documentation tools and methods
Ability to use basic to advanced formatting features of Microsoft WORD, including "styles
Experience with on-line help tools
Comfortable learning new computer applications
Interact well with engineers and other software professionals to derive data elements, relationships, and processing rules
Ability to attain subject matter expertise and proficiency in Client's applications
Ability to present simple to complex ideas and concepts
Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and results-oriented
