Global AML Director

The Global AML Director is responsible for conducting sanctions, identity verification (IDV/KYC), and anti-money laundering (AML) reviews across products.
You will be responsible for managing our AML operations. In this role, you will manage a large team conducting the day-to-day AML processes to ensure stays in continuous compliance with government regulations, contractual obligations, and internal policies. You will drive compliance cross-functional initiatives to continuously enhance our processes, while balancing the need to support an ever growing business and staying within our regulatory compliance obligations. You will report on our AML activities to management and to government and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
  • Manage our Payments Compliance AML Operations team focused on various AML processes.
  • Monitor the health of our AML Operations, including producing metrics and management reporting to Head of Compliance Operations and other key stakeholders.
  • Handle priority escalations, which will require interfacing with multiple functional areas, using diverse tools to investigate cases and acquire information.
  • Interface with multiple functional areas to develop and/or enhance our compliance systems and processes, including Compliance Policy, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance and Product Management.
  • Develop and/or enhance training manuals for Compliance Operations Analysts and present AML processes to auditors (internal and external) and regulators upon request.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 9 years of relevant work experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing operations in the payments, money transmitter, banking, or FinTech industry.
  • Experience with US or UK/European AML regulations

Preferred qualifications:
  • CAMS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of payments compliance regulations (e.g. AML, KYC, Sanctions).
  • Analytical and investigative skills combined with the ability to navigate through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and quickly-changing environment.
