Head of Brokerage Services

Job Overview
The successful candidate will own all administrative and risk related aspects of the Brokerage model and will work with the respective Product Heads and with multiple partners across the bank in the (i.e. Bankers, Product Specialists, Investment Counselors, Bank Service Head, the Account Opening HUB Head and Control Functions). The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the financial industry and ideally have work as Branch Operations Manager or Branch Administrative Manager.
The ideal candidate should be a proven problem solver who is able to support the business and provide robust guidance, advice and challenge the way our brokerage business operates, ensuring all compliance and risk aspects are been considered owned and managed.
  • Day to Day Activities:
  • Manage a team of Sales Assistants and Brokerage Specialists
  • Manages service levels, streamline / troubleshoots operational issues.
  • Handle commission and mark up issues
  • Implement efforts to improve efficiency
  • Lead the relationship with internal partners (Ops, Supervision, Product) to deliver on a best in class execution for client
  • Control of Errors, keep a log of errors and identify areas of opportunities to reduce / eliminate daily errors. Maintenance of a minimum set of internal controls considered necessary to mitigate risks
  • Responsible to create a best in class execution and service model
  • Work closely with the Product Specialists to identify and address any system and execution issues
  • Ensure proper backups are in place across the different functions within the brokerage business
  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and rules governing trading and the policies and procedures of the department and Company.
  • Product and Platform Development: Ensure that all the platform capabilities and market access of the Team are effective and allow us to favorably compete within our target market. Provide leadership and support in the identification, design, approval, training and successful implementation of new Capital Markets Products or variations. Own and coordinate the multiple projects required to drive business efficiency and client experience
  • Platform Management: Analyze ad provide an end state / go to model of our platform by identifying all opportunities and enhancements needed. Engage with technology, compliance and Ops to drive changes.
  • Service Model: Responsible to create a service model that is aligned to client segmentation. Work closely with bank service and Account Opening teams to enhance current client service model. Build an Investments service team that is best in class.
  • Business Development: Develop a coordinated business strategy across Americas to deliver the full range of products and solutions to our target market clients. Extensive interaction with our product partners to identify opportunities for our clients, partner with the broader to deliver on a successful solutions business with our clients.
  • Management Reporting: Work closely Americas investments COO Office to ensure accurate reporting of the brokerage business
  • Human Capital Management: Focus on talent management, ensure the people strategy and organizational capabilities are aligned to the business strategy and brokerage needs



Qualifications


  • Relevant 7+ years of experience at a broker dealer, with increased financial and distribution management experience in Financial Services
  • 5+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Series 7, 66, 8 or 9/10. Series 3 preferred
  • Ability to influence others without having a direct reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Superior inter-personal skills and decision making judgment
  • Team building and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of various functional areas including customer services, underwriting/new business, producer compensation, investment back office, finance and regulatory compliance
  • Management experience
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish
