Business Analyst w/ Tech Writing and PMO experience

Location: Bluemont, Virginia
The Business Analyst shall act as an interface between business units, technology and support teams, analyze business needs and provide written documentation and presentation support for the customer's Business Services Project Management Branch. The right candidate must have Project Management experience/knowledge and ample experience in the creation of and delivering final edited revisions of project management plan documents such as project management schedules, project management requirements documents, and documents in the System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC).
This job site is located in rural Loudoun County, VA.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Experience with creating Project Management Institute (PMI) driven Project Management documentation to include: Project Management Plan Documents, Project Requirements Documentation, MS Project Schedules, Processes and Procedures documents
  • Ability to create document templates using MS Word
  • Ability to offer best practices in the creating and maintenance of documents
  • Knowledge of the Project Management Lifecycle
  • Knowledge of the concept of a System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)
  • Knowledge of Operations in an ITIL v3 organization
  • A strong understanding and experience of the basic principles, practices, operations, and specialized vocabulary of the IT and telecommunication industry
  • Business processes using task flow analysis and work-flow analysis
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and compress data and information from multiple sources, resolve conflicts and differentiate between actual and required user needs
  • Deliver results after thorough research of functional needs by collaborating and communication between various users
  • Understanding business process management and business requirements of the customers and translating them to specific requirements
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in writing at a technical level and well as non-technical level
  • Must understand the Project Management Institute principles
  • Must be able to work within the client's environment, follow provided instructions, and already possess the required skills and knowledge to complete the required assigned tasks
    • MS WORD, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
Education/Certifications/Training:
Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific or technical field related to IT and telecommunications.
ITIL and PMP certification is a plus!
