Under the general direction of the Business Solutions Architect, the Programmer/Analyst is responsible for combining business acumen and analytic insight with programming skills to develop applications to meet specific requirements. Working closely with management, programmer-analysts determine the required solution and then set about creating the necessary code/configurations and testing the system. Responsible for advanced designing, implementing, testing, and deploying solutions using current, best practice software engineering and ITIL methods.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Gather and analyze information for developing and modifying information systems
Learn and maintain existing program and data structure for existing ServiceNow system
Assist users system support related to issues
Meets with users to determine the specifications for applications and information systems as well as any enhancements, modifications, or interfaces to existing systems
Participates and/or leads the implementation and support of application systems
Develops test plans and quality assurance strategies
Designs applications systems and interfaces; create test program logic in ServiceNow and maintain programs
Prepares detailed programming specifications and oversees the completion of the tasks when performed by other programmers
Collaborates with department staff, defines application systems objectives and requirements
Prepares documentation for all components of systems as well as user documentation
All other duties as assigned
The Programmer/Analyst is expected to use their analytical skills and computer knowledge to improve business workflow and work closely with an organization's leadership and IT department to ensure their computer system meets business demands.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or other computer related field preferred.
Read/write, analyze and interpret business, professional, and technical documents. Effectively present information and respond to questions from stakeholders.
Excellent math skill - apply concepts of basic accounting, algebra and geometry.
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Detailed knowledge of Service Desk processes and ITIL standards
Excellent hardware and software skills including: server O/S, application connectivity between servers, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Exchange, Microsoft Office Professional Suite,
Requires good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
Must have ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities with interruptions in a fast paced environment.
Must demonstrate the ability to handle confidential or sensitive information and issues.
Responsible for documenting the development of the program so that others can understand and modify the program, if needed.
