HL7 Application developer

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Richmond VA based client seeking a full-time Senior Interface Applications Developer to support the organization's ability to share data across multiple internal systems and external reporting requirements. This position is responsible for working with multiple stakeholders and technical teams to ensure functionality, quality and reliability of the organization's clinical systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience analyzing, designing, developing and supporting HL7 interfaces using InterSystems Ensemble Data Integration Platform and Cerner Millennium.

Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross functional teams to analyze, design, build and support custom HL7 interfaces. Lead teams and/or projects coordinating work activities, reporting on work status and providing input about team performance. Validate and critique peer design and programming efforts. Research emerging technology, its application to business needs and present findings to all levels of management as required. Provide production support by participating in weekly on-call rotation nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field with six (6) to eight (8) years of related experience analyzing, designing, developing and supporting interfaces using a Data Integration platform. Self-starter with proven ability to stay organized and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem solving skills. Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Customer service focused.

Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of HL7 message standards. Demonstrated experience using interface tools such as Ensemble I/F Engine and Cerner Open Port/Engine. Experience using RESTful APIs to develop interfaces like SMART on FHIR application is a PLUS. Deep knowledge of emerging system integration technologies and a high level of analysis, design, programming, training and implementation planning skills. Ability to initiate joint design and development efforts.

Bachelor's Degree with six (6) to eight (8) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
