HPC Application and Support System Engineer

Princeton Information is seeking qualified candidates for a HPC Application and Support System Engineer opportunity in East Hartford CT for a major client.

High Performance Computing (HPC) Application and Tools support
Location: East Hartford, CT
Duration: 1 Year +

Required Minimum Skills
  • 5+ years of experience with HPC (High Performance Computing) Application and Tools support.
  • Experience with xCAT, LSF, MPI, OpenMP, Ganglia, Nagios, OpenFabrics, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Infiniband high-speed low-latency interconnect, out-of-band management interfaces.
  • Linux admin skills.
  • Ability to improve speed and reliability of High Performance Computing systems.
  • Understanding of the compute cluster hardware with the ability to coordinate the repair of hardware failures.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and communication skills.
  • Experience with java, C++, Perl, Unix shell scripting.
  • Unix/Linux/Windows skills.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering customers and understand business needs.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team
Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: 10+ years experience in I.T. At least 5 years experience with HPC
Location - Must work onsite in East Hartford, CT

Provides the technical architecture guidance and leadership for an area of expertise. Designs and develops highly complex, integrated solutions through tools, processes and procedures to facilitate the cost effective delivery of services or fielding of successful products. Performs testing and integration of computer systems, subsystems and components. Architects highly complex global solutions across the appropriate engineering environments to meet business requirements or enhance performance. Reviews cost analyses and vendor comparison reports to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Recommends vendor/approach and presents to senior management. Reviews/Recommends highly complex systems investment(s) to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future performance, stability and systems management/life cycle issues. Provides escalated, highly complex technical support to customers by investigating and resolving systems-related matters of significance..
