Java Developer - Data Warehouse

Job title: Java Developer – Unity Data Warehouse (Associate/AVP Level)

Role description:
We are searching for a mid to senior level developer to work on Unity Data Warehouse system which is the firm's strategic platform for risk data sourcing and reporting. It's a unique world class Data Warehouse project that's used widely by risk managers and desk heads in Client, and is also the data source for different downstream Risk calculation engines. The applications use Java for daily risk and reference data loading (ETL),Database (Oracle) and Microsoft Analysis Service (OLAP) for data aggregation.

Responsibilities:
Improve and refactor the current ETL process to make it more automated and robust to handle the increasing daily data volume of our system;
Work with the global team members (mainly in Shanghai) and other peer teams on different projects;
Work on day-to-day JIRAs for requests driven by business users or regulatory programs;
Provide second-tier production support for the system;
Explore new technologies for the evolvement of next generation of the system


Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

Essential:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years Java development experience
  • Strong with Java core and advanced programming
  • Familiar with database (Oracle) and SQL scripting
  • Familiar with Gemfire
  • Familiar with scripting languages such as Python/Shell
  • Familiar with Spring technologies
  • Diligent with unit testing and quality-assurance;
  • Able to quickly research and understand new concepts and technologies, and apply to new development
  • Experience in coordinating work on global scale
  • Excellent communication skill to work with application users and team members

Preferred:
  • Experience with Microsoft Analysis Server and OLAP technology
  • Experience with big data product and technologies
  • Experience with Micro service technologies
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Understanding of financial products and risk measures
