Princeton Information is seeking a VP of Data Analytics for a contract to perm opportunity with a successful banking institution.  This person will set strategic and tactical direction in terms of data analytics/science, then execute that direction. Responsible for full-scope of advanced analytic techniques with overall objective of creating causal inferences, predictions, and analytics to help advance data-driven decisions within the organization. Synthesizes actionable findings across diverse departments and presents findings to audiences with varying levels of understanding in analytics. Manages personnel activities of Data Analytics staff. Sets goals and objectives, assigns work, and delegates responsibilities to staff to ensure department goals are met and high-quality service is maintained.
 
Sets strategic direction for data analytics and science leveraging advanced data analytic techniques from previous experience in the financial services vertical.
 
Plans and leads the execution of the analytics life-cycle. Executes full scope of advanced analytic techniques. Collaborates with key departments to establish road maps, present results, and resolve issues.
 
Performs problem formulation, requirements analysis, and planning. Interprets results for both causal inferences and predictive effectiveness.
 
Synthesizes appropriate recommendations for action and change. Presents findings and suggested actions and changes to a broad audience, and manages follow-ups and execution.
 
Exercise thought leadership and discretion in tailoring tools, approaches, and data used to meet the needs of the particular problem.
Develops policies, procedures, and systems for area of responsibility. Ensures staff is educated in such and notified of any changes.
Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational and strategic results. Assigns work and delegates responsibilities to staff and monitors progress to ensure department goals are met and high-quality service is maintained. Hires, trains, coaches, appraises, and rewards assigned staff.
Determines and maintains appropriate staffing levels for area of responsibility. Responds appropriately to employee complaints and issues. Cultivates strong working relationships and builds trust among team members.
Manages all vendor relationships and contracts pertinent to area of responsibility, in accordance with the Vendor Management Policy.
Responsible for budget development, monitoring, and maintenance for area of responsibility.
Responsible for all regulatory compliance for area of responsibility.
Participates in overall strategic planning.
Attends community events as appropriate during and outside of regular business hours.
Responsible for maintaining knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting industry. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee's role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
Bachelor's degree in data analytics, math, statistics, or related field. (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements).
10 or more years progressively responsible working experience in the data analytics field, to include previous management experience. The position requires a strong command of data analytic techniques within the financial services industry, as well as proven leadership experience and industry involvement.
Excellent organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem solving skills in order to effectively manage and attain goals set for area of responsibility. Must be able to resolve complex problems and situations requiring broad-based solutions that impact areas outside of immediate responsibility.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Banking products, services, policies, and procedures.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
