Network Engineer/architect

Ideal is Philly, Houston, or Thornton CO but can be remote and near any major airport.

andidate should have considerable experience on multiple vendors' networking gear, at a minimum with Juniper Routing/Switching, Cisco Routing/Switching, Cisco Nexus platforms and SDN. Good documentation and teamwork skills, and an understanding of existing operational needs and shortcomings are required. Experience with F5 LTM and GTM modules as well as an understanding of load balancing will be beneficial. Knowledge of Cisco FlexPod, Fabric Interconnect, and Cloud strategies and platforms would be a plus. Experience with Linux server administration, scripting, and package management is also valuable. This candidate should also have experience with Python, Perl, PHP, and Javascript, and able to refactor or disassemble legacy systems for use in newly deployed application frameworks. The ability to work in a collaborative environment via utilities like Jira and Git are a bonus.
• Evaluate monitoring, reporting services and products available in the marketplace.
• Proactively identify improvements, changes and new features that lead to higher customer satisfaction, improved team efficiencies and reduced operating costs.
• Work closely with a team of operations engineers who support the architecture and understand the demands of the operational environment.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's of Science is preferred or equivalent work related experience with a minimum of H.S Diploma.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of networking, databases and applications and their interdependencies in the context of monitoring.
• Understanding of IT operational processes (e.g. – ITIL concepts).
• World-class customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of customer, internal staff and management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to bridge gap between development and operations.
Technical Skills Needed:
• Juniper routing platforms
• Juniper switching platforms
• Cisco IOS-XE/IOS-XR/IOS knowledge
• Cisco Switching platforms (Catalyst and Nexus)
• Cisco SDN
• Load Balancing (mid-level GTM and LTM)
DevOps Skills Needed:
• Perl/Python
• Jira knowledge
• Git knowledge
• Understanding of Service Provider infrastructure, protocols and tools
• Understanding of network automation (i.e. Ansible, Network Insight, etc.)
• Documentation and Visio skills
Preferred Qualities:
• Linux package and server management experience
• Storage administration experience (SAN/NAS, FC/iSCSI/NFS)
• Centralized Authentication technologies (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, TACACS+)
• Monitoring technologies (e.g., SNMP)
