Software QA Automation Engineer
Job Description
The QA Automation Engineer performs multi-disciplinary functions relating to the quality assurance testing and support of company websites, mobile apps, internal applications, customer catalogs, compliance programs and special projects. This role is primarily responsible for quality assurance and automation. Duties include, but are not limited to, developing and executing functional and regression test cases for applications, creating automated testing scripts with automated testing software, producing application test reports, helping construct a Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline and tooling deployed systems for self-monitoring and alerting.
  • Software QA Testing new and existing elements of the company digital enterprise using automated test tools, including the authoring and care of an automated regression test bed, measuring performance characteristics of our solutions, mocking elements of our environment and simulating both sunny and rainy-day testing scenarios.
  • Leading companies push towards a Test-Driven Development discipline.
  • Writing and executing automated test cases for both API and UI portions of the solution.
  • Documentation of testing results in great detail outlining defect and path to recreate defect. The feedback will be documented in Confluence and Jira.
  • Communicating status and testing results to management and business stakeholders via reporting.
  • Authoring scripts to support a Continuous Delivery and integration strategy for promoting and rolling back both code and data between environments.
  • Authoring scripts to monitor the health of production and test systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Five (5) plus years of experience with software and quality assurance testing
  • Experience with software testing techniques and QA methodologies
  • Maintains a solid understanding of application defect and enhancement backlog
  • Ability to create thorough and detailed test plans, test cases and results documentation
  • Possesses a basic understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with reporting managers, users, customers, and other IT personnel
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with common tools used in the industry for automated testing and deployment (Selenium, Jasmine, SOAPUI, JMeter, Ansible)
  • Demonstrates integrity and professionalism
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills required
