Are you passionate about technology? AboutWeb is hiring for a Splunk Developer/Analyst to join an ongoing client project. This position is based in Tysons Corner on the client site. This resource will be a developer and support analyst for a large Splunk-based application/data monitoring environment, and should be able to demonstrate Splunk proficiency verbally, in writing, and in practice. We are looking for a candidate who can develop dashboards and panels, to solicit and document some of the new requirements, and support the application/data monitoring teams in a dynamic environment. This person will be speaking at meetings and working with end users to gather requirements. We are not able to offer VISA sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

• Strong experience with Splunk on a large enterprise level; ability to handle development/joining of data sets from multiple applications
• Demonstrated expertise in custom Splunk dashboard and report development
• Work closely with development teams to provide immediate Splunk support and issue resolution
• Advise application support teams and provide outage detection support based on alerts triggered in Splunk
• Research and issue recommendations to improve the Splunk ecosystem and its detection capabilities
• Maintain optimization of environments including upgrades, performance monitoring and system audits
• Create and maintain documentation of different AWS environments and service usage

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in Splunk development (Create Dashboards, Visualizations, Statistical reports, scheduled searches, alerts and knowledge objects)
• Expertise in writing Splunk regex, Splunk searches; Splunk certification is a plus
• Expertise in Splunk Searching and Reporting modules
• Exposure to agile methodology of execution (Scrum or Kanban)
• Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit (MLTK) a plus
• Splunk administration experience a plusFinancial services industry experience a plus
• Bachelors Degree
