Lead Automation Engineer

AboutWeb, an award-winning IT solutions and staffing company, is currently looking for a Lead Automation Engineer in Chesterbrook, PA to support one of our commercial engagements. This project is in support of a consumer platform for a customer who provides pharmaceutical services.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide automation/tooling architecture thought process and application design and development guidance that ensures enterprise wide scalability.
  • Creation of a sustainable automation framework for many large scale, highly integrated applications.
  • Work with the development team and/or vendors to successfully integrate automation testing.
  • Involved in all phases of the solutions development lifecycle. (From defining high-level estimates in the planning stages to post-mortem meetings at the end of projects).
  • Other responsibilities include performing the design, development, execution and reporting efforts for projects within one or more software development frameworks.
  • These professionals communicate testing results and provide recommendations based on issues discovered.
  • Members of this role need to understand programming languages, solution development life cycles, testing tools, test automation, and a strong knowledge of quality management.
  • Collaborates effectively and on an ongoing basis with all constituents involved in product development and release.
  • Evaluates testability of business and technical requirements and reports to project team member's changes or additional information needed in requirements.
  • Aligns with existing design/development/usage of automation testing frameworks and technologies.
  • Seeks to make continuous improvements to test coverage, execution and automation.
Experience & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically requires 5 or more years of related information technology work experience.
  • 4-6 years of Experience with Selenium and related automation tools: i.e. UFT, Visual Studio/CodedUI/Tosca/eggPlant/SmartBear, Cucumber

Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements:
  • Experience with creating automation frameworks and/or Service-Oriented Architecture(s), including behavior-driven development.
  • Expert level of knowledge on automation testing concepts, methodologies and processes.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery, Salesforce and SAP platforms a plus.
  • Experience in integrating automation scripts in CI & CD (DevOps) pipeline.
  • Experience with service layer tools such as SoapUI, POSTMAN, Rest-Assured.
  • Experience in SQL
  • Knowledge of various Agile and DevOps tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, TFS, etc.
  • Scripting knowledge using Junit, Groovy, Jenkins, Azure etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
  • SAFE certification a plus.
