Microsoft Administrator

We are looking for a Microsoft Administrator who will be responsible for managing Microsoft servers and clients, including our servers. Also responsible for maintenance, evaluation, installation, remediation and training tasks to enable users and customers to maximize productivity. The incumbent is expected to enforce security procedures and assists in the planning, deployment, and maintenance of corporate hardware and software.
  • Performs server, client, and software administration including; design, procurement, implementation, monitoring, updating, reporting, and auditing to ensure all is in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots hardware, software, and basic networking issues for Microsoft Windows servers and clients.
  • Monitors and supports Active Directory, including users and computer provisioning, policies, and architecture.
  • Monitors and supports VMWare environment, including users and computer provisioning, storage, configuration, and updates.
  • Works with the Microsoft Engineer to support higher-level infrastructure and applications including DHCP, DNS, ADFS, and TMG.
  • Administers Office365 Exchange and SharePoint environment including provisioning, licensing, configuration, and auditing.
  • Maintains and supports Windows-related storage including file shares, permissions, applications and security.
  • Performs basic administrative functions with regard to enterprise-level SAN equipment including NetApp and Nimble.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning access to resources and operation of various software programs.
  • Remains abreast of changes in user, system software and hardware technologies and best practices, including functionality, security threats, mitigations, and detections.
  • Manages the documentation of Windows servers and clients, keeping system information current.
  • Assists SVP of IT with the execution, implementation and completion of various corporate and departmental projects.
  • Develops and manages project plans through their lifecycle. Places this technology into a portfolio of maintenance items.
  • Maintains and introduces security measures to harden company resources.
  • Manages printing services and devices.
  • Maintains backups of systems and solutions through Veeam and NetWorker.
  • Assists with certificate management through third-party Certificate Authorities.
  • Evaluates and/or recommends purchase of computers, peripheral equipment and software licensing.
  • Provides technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs.
  • Develops instructions and conducts various trainings for system users on operating systems and other applications.
  • Performs other duties and assignments associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business.
  • The successful candidate will have 5+ years of related experience of which three (3) must be with specialized field (knowledge and analysis of TCP/IP, SMTP, and SMB protocols).
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent is a must.
  • Must be proficient with all aspects of communication network planning, system security, installation, and support.
  • Must be proficient with Active Directory, Office 365, malware protection and prevention, basic networking, Microsoft Office, SQL, VMWare, IIS, SSL, general email technology, Hewlett Packard hardware and Insight Manager, SharePoint, NetApp and Nimble storage.
  • Ability to acquire or demonstrate proficiency with minimal oversight on the following technologies is preferred: image deployment (MDT, Ghost, SCCM, Clonezilla, FOG, etc.), TMG, Veeam, Networker, MDM, and Websense.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages is highly preferred but not required.
  • Experience in AWS Cloud platform and its features which includes EC2, AMI, EBS, RDS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, S3 and IAM is required.
  • Must possess a strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot is required.
  • Strong planning, organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.
  • Must possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and be able to exhibit confidence in product and knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks with little instruction is required. Ability to work in parallel on multiple responsibilities is needed.
  • Responsible for periodic on-call duty.
  • Must coordinate and triage events, incidents and emergency requests. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
