Our client, a Fortune 500 Company seeks a Financial Systems Manager to work in their FIS department . You will have a key role in the creation, maintenance and enhancement of the FIS Functional strategy for Financial Close applications and processes, Planning & Forecasting applications and processes, BI applications and processes, and MDM/Analytical applications and processes. The sucessful candidate will collaborate with other members of the Finance Systems Optimization team and the Expansion and Finance Transformation (M2:1) teams to ensure smooth integration of the various components/workstreams within the overall the company Financial Application strategy. You will also be a key resource in supporting the FIS delivery teams from initiative inception, analysis, design and implementation. Assist with critical production support items.
Deciding Financial Systems strategy for Financial Close, Planning & Forecasting, BI, and MDM/Analytical systems ¿ namely deciding implementation and version upgrade strategy for EPM product families, or BI product families. Advise Finance management clients on best strategy for timing of application changes and content changes and the effect on the clients
Independently analyze external trends and best practices around financial systems strategies for respective area of responsibility (e.g. review articles, attend user conferences and user groups, meeting customers/vendors etc.)
Selling strategic vision and change management necessary to senior FIS and Finance decision makers via concise presentations, ROI analysis, and change management
Assess how the The company existing application footprint can be enhanced by adopting industry trends and leading practices and put together a roadmap on how to reach the strategic goal.
Design and build Proof of Concepts (POCs) for the applications/components identified as part of the roadmap to validate their fit within The company footprint.
Assist PMO team (within FIS Operations) to design and update standard initiative templates used by all groups within FIS to guide work with clients.
Assist delivery team with gathering requirements, specifications, and whatever other information is required for a current state assessment of a given initiative.
Work with delivery teams to validate and interpret current state analysis within a given initiative.
Participate in the requirements gathering phase and review/validate requirements documentation produced by the delivery teams for new and updated initiatives.
Assist the delivery teams in producing the various initiative strategies needed (ex. data migration, interfaces, testing, reporting, data governance and development standards) to design the initiative work plan.
Assist the delivery teams in developing the solution design which best translates the requirements and Fit/Gap analysis into a leading best practice solution design.
Assist the delivery teams in initiative POC development and presentation to clients for approval to proceed.
Assist the delivery teams in the completion of the application design deliverables such as configuration documents and functional/technical specifications.
Validate a given initiative design by participating in the various checkpoint meetings.
Provide hands-on assistance to the delivery teams with any issues/problem resolution encountered, change control items needing approval, etc. starting from build phase of an initiative until successful project deployment to meet client needs.
Investigate complex product support issues, opening support tickets and working with third party software vendors in determining the solution(s) to fix the issues encountered, and working with the regular production support teams to perform post-mortem analysis of the cause in causes for use in responding to future issues of a similar nature.
Bachelor¿s level degree or similar educational course level in a technical specialty program required preferably with a focus in one or more of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Accounting Information Systems Finance
7-10 years demonstrated knowledge and experience in areas of responsibility
Experience working for a multi-national company in a transformational environment
Experience in working on multiple financial system related projects at the same time
Previous experience working in a matrix, dynamic, multi-national environment
Previous success working in a dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
Must have proven leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills
Requires strong written, verbal, presentation and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and proactively
Proficiency with office applications
Good time management skills; ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Understanding of financial accounting terms and concepts a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to creatively solve problems
Strong technical knowledge and skills in the one of the latest Oracle EPM product families, or BI (OBIEE, Essbase, ODI, etc.) product families
Experience in providing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) methodologies in application development
