Leading global investment bank serving institutional, corporate, government and individual clients seeks Unix C++ developer.
Their FID IT provides development and support of applications used by the global cash and derivatives trading and marketing fixed income business, including interest rates, credit, commodities and Repo.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic Front Office, eCommerce IT application development team. The development team work very closely with their clients and projects are mainly focused on development of new cutting edge, strategic, low latency electronic trading solutions for new business initiatives as well as enhancements to existing components to improve functionality, control, and efficiency.
The ecommerce team is a global team with developers located in London, New York and Singapore. Projects are normally implemented by developers across regions so the ability to work effectively with teams in other regions is essential.
The eCommerce team remit includes price formation, quotes publication, connectivity to various exchanges and vendors, trade requests (auto and manual RFQ), trade execution and STP to FO risk systems. The emphasis is on improving latency and capacity across the complete quote/trade lifecycle and the ideal candidate would have significant experience in the design and development of low latency systems.
Due to the dynamic and fast growing nature of the electronic trading business, there is also an emphasis on generic and flexible design methodologies, enabling the systems to be easily and quickly extended. The successful candidate will be driving this effort and should have significant experience in design of complex, flexible IT systems, as well as test driven programming ideally in the financial/banking sector.
The role is a developer and the candidate will be expected to interact with front office clients and therefore require self motivation, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills.
Ecommerce applications mainly run on a Unix/Linux environment so the candidate must be comfortable developing on this platform.
Computer science or numerical degree
Minimum of 5 years practical software development experience.
Proven track record in the full development lifecycle for small to large-scale systems.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience of banking systems and cash/derivatives knowledge, especially with experience of
