Fortune 500 Corporation seeks an Application Packager who will be responsible for the build and assist on all application packaging builds.
  • Build and assist on all (traditional, Citrix and virtual) application packaging builds
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, identify/resolve technical issues
  • Thorough documentation of package build process for future builds or changes
  • Proactively identify technical issues with package requests
  • Test of packages prior to deployment into the production environment
  • Utilize established processes to enable package hand off to distribution with accurate package information
  • Peer review of packaging builds
  • Ensure that packages are created to defined standards
  • Ensure SLA targets are met
  • Ensure that metrics are reported weekly
  • Responsible to providing the third level support too internal and Business IT teams 
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of industry experience.
  • 6+ years of applications packaging experience analyzing designing, building the application packages for the production environments.
  • Proficient knowledge of software packaging and Windows Installer
  • Strong technical expertise with Wise Studio and other packaging tools
  • Experience with VMware
  • Experience with VB Scripting or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of creating packages for Citrix deployment
  • Knowledge in SoftGrid (APPV) Application Virtualization or similar technologies
  • Technical expertise with the Windows Operating system (XP, Windows 7)
  • Comprehension of testing tools (Virtualized Desktops, ICE validation)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently without intensive oversight.
  • Initiative and ability to research problems independently, and finding the root cause.
  • Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training and written documentation.
  • Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures.
