Engineer will partner with other functional groups and managers (including network infrastructure, database, development, operations, and customer-facing/business) to provide an effective trading platform architecture and efficient and accurate problem determination and resolution.

Business/General Skills:

  • Design and Architect solutionsto business and technology challenges
  • Provide mentoring and technical leadership to the group, assisting with all aspects of design, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a diverse hardware and software environment
  • Place focus on stability and performance of all trading subsystems and infrastructure
  • Provide backup to a standard 24/7 support rotation schedule as required
  • Ability to travel to data centers as required
  • Experience evaluating assessing new technology solutions from vendors
  • Produce clear, concise documentation regarding best practices, technology testing results, problem analysis, and forecasting
  • Proven capability of managing conflicting requirements under tight schedules without compromising stability or quality
  • Ability to effectively multitask management, troubleshooting, and engineering tasks efficiently
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, with peers through C-level.
  • University Degree in Computer Science.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of Linux x64/x86 management and technical support
  • 10+ years with Intel/AMD and SPARC hardware installation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • 7+ years of infrastructure design, architecture, and integration
  • 7+ years of programming or scripting experience (particularly focused on automation)
  • 5+ years of SAN storage experience (storage management, fiber switches/connectivity and security)
  • 5+ years of NAS storage experience (storage management, network connectivity and security)
  • 5+ years of application intercommunication experience over IP multicast networks (e.g. LBM)
  • 5+ years of distributed file system architecture and troubleshooting experience (e.g. GFS, OCFS)
  • 5+ years of Internet and Intranet-based SMTP mail delivery
  • Windows Server and Domain Administration is a plus
