United States Air Force Academy
The Academy is a world-class university designed to create strong leaders. Beyond academic excellence, the Academy emphasizes military training, athletics and character development to forge officers of character who are ready to lead our nation in the Air Force. Its campus is located north of Colorado Springs. The Academy is also one of the largest tourist attractions in Colorado, attracting more than a million visitors each year.

Essential Functions (Duties include but are not limited to)
  • Manages routine office processes to include, but not limited to, high quality customer service, available via phone to call internal and external customers, employee call offs and backfilling as needed, scheduling, collecting initial credentials and re-credentials updates, fingerprinting of new staff, communication with central/regional office personnel and military personnel, office security, and employee mailings and communication on new policies and procedures.
  • Assists HR and Recruiters with new hire recruits by networking with local medical staff to work in MTFs
  • Assists with scheduling and coordinating interviews or site visits with new candidates and attend these interviews and site visits as needed by the central/regional office
  • Assists with inprocessing of new hires and outprocessing of terminating of staff
  • Conducts salary surveys/market information gathering, as requested, to determine market rates for positions in specified departments
  • Assists in the collection, review and audit of staff timesheets
  • Approves timesheets and forwards to payroll/HR/Recruiter and assists in resolving any outstanding timesheet questions
  • Instructs employees on company policies and procedures as well as instructing and managing all staff on the MTF bi-laws
  • Counsels and determines disciplinary action for site employees
  • Serves as a liaison between staff and corporate office and is the first point of contact to employees, referring escalating problems to Recruiter/Project Manager, when necessary
  • Assists with the planning and coordinates logistics for employee events/correspondence, e.g., town hall meetings, benefits open house, employee mailings, employee birthday cards, TB clinics, etc.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of programs to improve recruiting and retention, e.g., orientation/training program, incentive plans, etc.
  • Has on-call responsibility to handle problems, schedule changes & cancellations, etc., during nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years office management/Human Resources/recruiting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in various computer applications, e.g. word processing, excel spreadsheet, e-mail, database management and presentation software
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a large workload within tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential data
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Sound judgment in determining qualifications of medical support staff and in responding to employee relations issues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, with an emphasis in grammar)
  • Must be persistent and persuasive
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Familiarity with modern office equipment, e.g. facsimile, copier, etc.
