With these state of the art cathlabs, NMCSD's cardiologists, radiologists, and vascular surgeons can provide the latest treatments to our patients to include coronary artery angioplasty and stenting, Atrial Septal Defect (ASD)/ patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure, peripheral artery angioplasty and stenting, and percutaneous repair of aortic aneurysms.Recently, the NMCSD staff has been recognized for excellence by organizations such as the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Athena International, National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), our Ob-Gyn Department received the DoD Patient Safety Award and our Hematology/Oncology department was recognized as one of the best cancer centers.

REQUIREMENTS (duties include but are not limited to)
  • Perform a full range of Clinical Psychologist procedures on-site, within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Commanding Officer, using government furnished facilities, supplies and equipment. Workload occurs as a result of either scheduled or unscheduled requirements for care. The HCW is responsible for a full range of diagnostic examinations, the development of comprehensive treatment plans when indicated, delivery of treatment within the personnel and equipment capabilities of the treatment facility, provision of mandated medical surveillance and preventive services, and the quality and timeliness of treatment records and reports required to document procedures performed and care provided. The HCW shall refer patients to staff specialists for consultation opinions and continuation of care and shall see the patients of other government staff health care providers who have been referred for consultation and treatment. The HCW's productivity is expected to be comparable to that of other Clinical Psychologists assigned to the same facility and authorized the same scope of practice.
  • Perform consultations, differential diagnoses, and treatment planning for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Successful completion of the Tri Service Internal Behavioral Health Consultant (IBHC) training or Tri Service Behavioral Health Care Facilitator (BHCF) training course.
  • Shall provide a minimum of 30 days of services prior to attending the training and must successfully complete the IBHC or BHCF training within 90 days of performance under the task order.
  • Possess a doctoral degree from a doctoral training program in professional psychology in the areas of clinical psychology or counseling psychology approved by the American Psychological Association Office of program Consultation and Accreditation (APA-CoA).
  • Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted license or certification to practice as a psychologist in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth or Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Notwithstanding the aforementioned requirements, must have pertinent clinical experience within the past 2 years sufficient to demonstrate current clinical competency for the setting and procedures required.
