Currently seeking Neonatal intensive care unit registered nurse in one of the most coveted hospital. NICU RN provides critical care to premature and sick newborns.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients in the NICU and Newborn Nursery. 
  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures of the NICU that guide and support the provision of services.
  • Demonstrates appropriate usage and understanding of equipment used in the department. 
  • Participates in the discharge process to include parent teaching. 
  • Monitor patients vitals such as blood pressure, heart rate and breathing and initiative corrective action on an immediate basis.
  • Administer infusions and monitor special equipment such as ventilators to assess patients conditions.
  • Observe changes in patients conditions and report any alarming changes to doctor on duty or pediatrician.
  • Provide emotional support and education to families of patients admitted to NICUs.
  • Record all care information concisely and accurately through forms.
  • Meet the developmental and emotional needs of children admitted in NICU.
  • Minimum of 2 years current NICU experience required. 
  • California Registered Nurse License 
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
