RN – Oncology
 
Currently seeking an RN – Oncology in California. Oncology RN play a significant part in the health care team to provide care for cancer patients throughout all stages of their conditions, focusing mainly on acute care. The Oncology RN will help patients ranging from post-surgical to near terminal manage their disease and treatment effectively, and may also be responsible for administering chemotherapy (which requires additional certification)
 
Duties and responsibilities of an RN – Oncology includes:
  •        Reviewing patient’s health history.
  •        Assess and monitors patients’ physical and emotional status.
  •        Keep track of laboratory, pathology and imaging studies.
  •        Safely administer medications, fluids and cancer treatments.
  •        Collaborate with the doctors and other clinicians about the treatment plan.
  •        Help patients to understand the disease, treatment plan and possible side effects.
  •        Help translate complex medical terminology and answer questions.
  •        Guide patients to plan for and manage symptoms throughout treatment.
 
Requirements of an RN - Oncology
  • Graduate degree from nursing school
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working as Oncology Nurse
  • Current active license to work as RN in state of California
