Environmental Engineer

Skills Required:
• Must have a bachelor degree in civil/mechanical/ engineering or environmental/safety management. • Must a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the environmental, health and safety engineering management field in manufacturing setting • Must have a strong knowledge and experience working with federal and state regulatory agencies. • Must be able to communicate effectively. (written and verbal) Position Summary: • This position is responsible to the environmental and safety compliance for the Pine Grove site. • This position is responsible for coordinating, maintaining and ensuring compliance for the ISO9000 and TS16949 programs. • Responsibility for working with the Site Engineers to insure proper energy management is being performed.

Experience Required:
Principal responsibilities: • Work with the site to insure compliance with state and federal environmental permits and programs. These programs should include but not limited to (safety, air, drinking water, waste water, well water, storm water, land application, hazardous waste, and recycling programs). • Work with the site to insure that ISO9000 and TS16949 compliance is being maintained. • Manage all environmental remediation for Pine Grove location. • Perform environmental, health and safety audits as needed. • Support and recommend actions for incident response procedures and risk management program. • Ensure that all permit renewals are done in a timely manner. • Keep up to date on current and upcoming legislation to insure compliance. • Review all capital projects to insure they meet environmental directives. • Review all new chemicals for the sites to insure environmental directives are met. • Fill out regulatory reports where applicable. • Work with corporate staff to make sure corporate directives are being met. • Complete environmental reports for Guilford’s Pine Grove operations. • Work with plant operations to help develop systems to manage and conserve energy. • Work with the plant operations to help reduce waste and improve cost. • Work with the site to ensure that the proper environmental training is being done. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Complete all other duties as assigned.
