Duties and Responsibilities
(These are the positions essential duties and is not an all inclusive list)
  • Reporting to Supplier Quality Manager
  • Main Supplier Quality interface between the Supplier, Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and the Company Manufacturing facilities.
  • Supplier Quality Engineer:
  • Manage the Collection and Organization of routine Client data collection, analysis, and feedback through pareto and tend charts.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues
  • Development and management of an incoming inspection process purchased purchased product at The Company
  • Recording of non-conforming products found in Company facilities, write Client as required.
  • Development and improvement of supplier quality control processes
  • Surveillance of the closure of open issues and non-conformances, verification of permanent corrective actions
  • On-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions
  • Continuous improvement of standards and their adherence on the shop floor. Foster continuous improvement
  • Manage escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues
  • Shop floor visits and lead reviews of current issues and identification of potential supplier quality issues
  • Communicate and deliver Supplier Quality department's vision to complement Company's Quality vision
  • Document current and future Supplier Quality expectations
  • Lead the implementation of Supplier Quality KPIs throughout the plants and communication to appropriate departments Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of organization from shop-floor to management staff. 
  • Possess the ability to read, interpret blue prints and the understanding and communication of dimensional tolerances
  • Be able to use precision measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, ect .)
  • Ability to perform, report, and communicate SPC and Capability Results reports
  • Awareness and understanding in APQP and knowledgeable of process and product development cycle.
  • Extensive experience with working directly with suppliers at their facilities
  • Ability to identify and develop chronically poor performing suppliers
  • Experienced in interacting with cross-functional team members to achieve alignment and commitment to keep supplier quality as an important program deliverable.
  • Understanding of Cost of Poor Quality and customer satisfaction as top priorities.
  • Knowledge of Non-conforming Material Reporting (Client) process.
  • Knowledge & familiarity with maintaining a working open issue matrix
  • Computer skills: excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and any other relevant software applications.
  • Possess an understanding of supplier quality processes and the ability to improve them
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Ability to travel to supplier locations and Company facilities. Some international travel may be required.
