Duration: 12 Months – W2 Only (Temp To Hire)

Perform configuration management activities related to the development and production of complex systems and equipment in a defense environment. Perform the following activities related to Configuration Management (CM): Ensure application of organizational Configuration Management (CM) processes to program in accordance with CM plan.
  • Perform CM tasks that include release of CAD models and drawings, and non-CAD product data into enterprise PDM.
  • Maintain drawings/part data and Bills of Materials in PDM. Process drawing changes.
  • Ensure proper program application of Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) and PCA IPT meetings and maintain meeting records.
  • Maintain various CM logs, such as for drawing number assignments.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) systems.
  • Support physical configuration audits (PCAs) and functional configuration audits (FCAs).
  • Support the maintenance of the production baseline, and control of the Bill of Materials (BOM) that support approved vehicle configurations. Support the implementation of approved ECPs into the production configurations, and the build of product End Items.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) systems and prepare CSA reports applicable to the build of End Items.
  • Support ISO, CMMI, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Quality and corporate audits.
  • Support CM CDRL deliveries.
  • Support supply chain compliance to CM requirements of contracts. Establish good working relationships with customer counterpart and DCMA Engineering.
Skills Required
  • DoD experience preferred.
  • Military standards including MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000 Industry standards including SAE EIA-649B, ISO 10007, CMMI ASME drawing standards such as ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100. Sound knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes and documentation.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Good planning, time management and organization skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office suite to prepare appropriate reports and documents required. Database skills desirable.
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organization skills.
  • Experience with teleconferencing applications, and working in a distributed organization.
Skills Preferred
  • NDIA CDM certification or CM II certification.
  • PTC Windchill PDM experience.
  • Familiarity with CAD applications, preferably PTC Creo/ProE.
  • Oracle ERP experience.
  • MS Excel advanced user knowledge of complex functions, MS-Access, SQL and VBA coding skills highly desired.
  • Experience managing complex BOM structures.
  • Prefer experience with relevant applications in a defense environment.
Experience Required
  • 4-8 years' experience in Engineering Change Management and Bill of Materials management in a PDM environment and hand-offs to ERP systems.
  • Experience in DoD ECP processing of technical drawings and CAD models highly desirable.
Experience Preferred
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office suite to prepare reports and documents. Expert knowledge level in Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Engineering Support in production and Oracle ERP experience.

Education Required
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in a technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
