Our client is seeking  a Principal Analyst —UAS Modeling.
The Principal Analyst leads the organization's effort to revolutionize the way it interacts with its assets, by using Unmanned Aircraft Systems ("UAS”)-collected data coupled with 3D modeling, photogrammetry, interactive cloud-based user interfaces ("UI”), and machine learning.
The incumbent assesses business needs and cost effectively delivers accurate, photorealistic data products for all the Company's U.S. assets.
The incumbent interacts with the UAS team; internal and external customers and vendors to focus on automating point cloud and/or mesh analysis to achieve a scalable enterprise solution. The Principal Analyst serves as the team's modeling subject matter expert and provides a UI experience and workflow that reduces the Company's net costs.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to the UAS Program in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of UAS data-driven UI and deliverables.
  • Deliver cost effective, accurate, photo-realistic, interactive models of the Company's U.S. assets by leveraging UAS collected data.
  • Work with the IT department, software providers, and UAS team to develop time saving analysis automation and user-friendly UIs for the Company's employees and customers.
  • Partner with business leaders and customers to identify opportunities for UAS data; determine scope, evaluate requirements, manage implementation, and monitor quality during and post-production.
  • Develop customer-facing data product that can be generated using the Company's standard data collection and processing techniques.
  • Lead IT to identify, develop, and project-manage system integrations to ensure the UAS program delivers an integrated solution.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager, UAS Operations to ensure collected data meets processing and analysis requirements, build quality and productions metrics, and ensure requirements are scalable.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships to effectively execute on responsibilities.
  • Experience delivering an accessible and intuitive product to customers whom don't have engineering software experience.
  • Ability to generate, export, manipulate, and display point clouds, meshes, and other relevant data sets in third-party software.
  • Ability to understand business and IT concepts and identify the impact of business changes on systems
  • Ability to introduce disruptive technology to a larger organization
  • Experience working with project managers to deliver projects involving and affecting multiple business units.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve results
  • Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Software Development, Physics, Engineering, or similar field required.
  • Three years relevant UAS, GIS, modeling, application design, or other quantitative industry experience required.
  • At least 8 years' professional work experience required.
  • Experience with point cloud manipulation, CAD, third-party GIS or photogrammetry software required.
  • Experience with remote sensing, oblique imagery, and GIS/surveying preferred.
  • UAS knowledge and capture-from-motion experience preferred.
  • FAA UAS Part 107 Operators Certificate preferred.
  • Photogrammetry and professional surveyor certificates a plus
