Our client is seeking a Linux Engineer to be responsible for maintaining, updating and optimizing the Hosting Infrastructure.
You will work within their Hosting Services Group to support the Services and participate on various ongoing internal projects.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide Maintenance and Support of one or more systems (Databases, Application Servers, Networks, or other specific Systems).
  • Ensure uninterrupted access to quality, efficient, high-performance computer services at one or more specific locations.
  • Provide thorough technical systems Support to both internal and external customers.
  • Work with other System Managers, Applications and Operations staff to promote standardization and validation of computing environments.
  • Maintain standardization of computing environments.
  • Ensure service delivery targets and operational requirements are met.
Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years, In depth (expert level) in Linux
  • Scripting Experience in: C++ or Bash
  • Experience working within ITIL Framework of Service Management
  • Excellent problem solving and communications skills
  • Flexible approach and willingness to partake in the on call rotation, approx. one week in 5
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Client focused and detail oriented approach to work
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
  • Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork
Experience is required in one or more of the following technical areas:
  • Linux-based Operating Systems (RHEL, CentOS)
  • Virtualization (VMware)
  • Apache Tomcat
  • Linux-based File System Administration using LVM
  • Java-based application deployment in Linux environments
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in related discipline
