Our client currently has an excellent high growth opportunity for a Manager in our Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting group based in Cupertino, CA.
You will be responsible for a wide variety of technical accounting issues, external reporting responsibilities, and special projects.
This position reports into the Senior Manager - SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. This opportunity should see a strong career progression within the company.

Responsibilities

Technical Accounting:
  • Support the business needs of the global finance organization and management by performing accounting research of technical issues and providing well thought out technical accounting guidance and accounting memos
  • Issues include financial instruments, embedded derivatives, equity investments, share-based compensation, leases, etc.
  • Participate in significant business transactions by providing technical accounting expertise. Transactions may include business combinations, impairment review, restructuring, and divestitures
  • Develop and provide training to domestic and international locations on technical accounting issues
  • Prepare presentations for the Audit Committee on important accounting issues and trends
  • Monitor new accounting standards, assess their impact on the organization and create working solutions
  • Assist with the development of financial policies in response to operational changes, internal control requirements, or technical accounting requirements
  • Ensure and document compliance with internal policies, SOX controls, and regulations relating to US GAAP and SEC requirements
​External Reporting:
  • Use of excellent communication skills to coordinate with the global finance organization, legal, investor relations, FP&A and others to draft and review all SEC filings
  • Assist with the SEC reporting process including drafting portions of Form 10-Q and 10-K, preparing supporting schedules, checking XBRL requirements and the edgarization work.
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of professional experience and a BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in the Big 4 public accounting firms or with large public companies including extensive SEC reporting and technical accounting experience
  • Experience in technical accounting and writing position papers and thorough understanding of SEC filing requirements
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to meet project deliverables.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to work well within a team structure and effect change cross-functionally
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational, management, analytical, decision-making, and research skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with IFRS is a plus
