The Database Manager/Administrator will serve as a Database Manager/Administrator for the Data Center/application development team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)
  • Create, maintain, and update databases for existing and newly developed applications.
  • Ensure security requirements are implemented to ensure data protection, at rest and in transit.
  • Assessment of customer needs and implementation of improved configurations for customer needs.
  • Receiving and preparing data for production.
  • Designing and executing queries to clean and prepare data files and answer research questions using SQL Server databases.
  • Identifying changes in patterns.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Database Manager/Administrator for the Data Center/application development team.
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or 3 years' experience in database administration.
  • Experience requirements include two years of experience in testing applications and describing issues found in testing.
  • Possess Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-III IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002. The expiration date on certifications must be at least 90 days out from hire date.
  • SSBI required

  • Strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must have the ability to travel to different work locations.
  • Relevant skills include SQL Server clustering, SQL Server high availability solutions; database encryption, SQL Server backup/recovery
