Basic Function:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business Technology team as a Business Analyst.
The Business Analyst will be instrumental in establishing business requirements across the business unit through our expanding portfolio of global solutions.
This person will work with business owners to gather and understand business requests and work with development teams to translate into functional and technical requirements. 
The business analyst may serve as the product owner for the Agile scrum team to represent the business owner's request, supporting all cross functional departments including marketing, finance, compliance, license management systems and customer operations.

Essential duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gather, document and analyze requirements for project, enhancement, or report requests using: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, task and workflow analysis
  • Create requirements documentation and diagrams/process maps to assist in the support, development and/or analysis of a product and/or process.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into details, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishing user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Conducting impact analysis at the beginning of each assigned project to determine interdependencies between the requested project/enhancement and existing applications/systems and processes within the production environment
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: business requirements and backlogs; functional specifications including use cases, GUI, screen and interface designs)
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Work closely with project managers and solution architects to ensure:
    • designed solution meets the business need o   business leads and sponsors are kept informed per project communications plans
  • Develop Functional Requirements and associated User Acceptance Test Plans based on the Business Requirements.
  • Monitor quality of development output by conducting User Acceptance/end-to-end testing as required
  • Facilitate and provide guidance to the business as they conduct their own User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Support questions, clarifications, refinement of requirements and final solution.
  • Assist in the creation of documentation that provides users with processing instructions, training materials, test plans and change communications.
  • Architect the workflow process that will integrate and automate the defined solution.
  • Collaborate with business and IT resources on product deliverables implementation
  • Groom the project backlogs - work with teams to decompose projects into manageable work items, prioritize them, and deliver them
