Project Summary
Our client is looking for a motivated Cyber Security Analyst to join theitr growing team supporting a government agency. They are executing a major IT modernization in an Agile environment and the Cyber Security Analyst will be critical to supporting the systems, identifying and addressing security issues, and ensuring a secure design for the to-be systems.

  • Navigate the system, team, and customer through the Authority to Operate (ATO) process on a Secret/Classified system
  • Create new, and edit existing documentation that forms the Authority to Operate (ATO) package to include the System Security plan and IS contingency plan
  • Understand known security issues with existing systems and support design of the to-be architecture that resolves these security issues
  • Assess and identify additional security issues with existing systems (that may not be explicitly identified)
  • Support the Systems Architect and Systems Integrator in creating at least two to-be architectural alternatives for a new system that will meet current security requirements
  • Cooperate with software development teams and ensure security standards and frameworks are being used and implemented
  • Recommend and use tools for security scanning and testing, including network, operations, and coding
  • Recommend and create processes for security controls, processes, and best practices implementation
  • Capture, document, and report discovered or suspected security, privacy, and confidentiality incidents
  • Must have a current, active Secret Clearance
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing, executing, and evaluating various cyber security systems
  • Experience achieving authorities to operate (ATO) for Government systems classified at Secret clearance or higher
  • Knowledge and experience with NIST SP 800-53.
  • Experience recommending security solutions for systems architectures
  • Experience developing, executing, and evaluating:
    • Contingency plans
    • Vulnerability assessments
    • System Security plans
    • System, data, and communications protection
    • Integrity procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience and knowledge of DoD STIGs
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience working with a Secret/Classified System
  • Knowledge and experience with NIST RMF
  • Experience with FedRamp
Education and Training:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or related fields.
  • IT systems security professional certification preferred
