Responsibilities
  • Provide system administration and support for existing environments to include performance of the following related tasks: software installation, patch installation, upgrades, query writing, configuration, system monitoring and tuning, disaster recovery planning, and release deployments.
  • Work closely with Help Desk to ensure all relevant O&M processes are implemented.
  • Participate in all Support activities during incidents and outages. Take a hands-on approach to resolving all technical issues within lower and upper environments, and making recommendations for performance and capacity improvements.
  • Monitor ticketing system for any assigned tickets and following up regarding progress and reporting activities.
  • Continuously improve our infrastructure to be easy to deploy, scalable, secure and fault-tolerant. Participate in capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and scaling of the application infrastructure.
  • Drive toward automation as much as possible.
  • Work effectively both independently and as a member of a cross functional team.
  • Participate in quarterly release activities.
Qualifications
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
Required Experience:
  • Three (3) years of experience in an IT field
  • Advanced experience with Windows, Linux and Unix systems/Virtual Environment to include installation, troubleshooting, and patching
  • Knowledge of Windows environment, shell scripts, and IIS
  • Experience in Active Directory, including patching
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and using tools such as JIRA
  • Experience using MS Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent troubleshooting and creative problem solving skills; good organization and prioritization skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with programing languages such as C/C++, VB.NET
  • Some experience with software automation technologies
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools
Education and Training
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related
