PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Email Developer works independently and as part of a cross-functional team to translate program requirements into email deliverables using HTML/Web-based tools. They work with Analytics, Account and Team Leads in the execution of email campaigns. The process requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work with both internal and external clients. The Senior Email Developer serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on email related topics and is expected to continually look for ways to optimize processes, quality and work output. 
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Develop and deploy email campaigns using HTML authoring tools.
  • Document and create email campaign deliverables and ensure that final deliverables are on time and meet business requirements.
  • Perform first level quality control testing.
  • Participate in project meetings as needed for program kick-off, asset hand-off and other requirements related discussions.
  • Identify the root cause of any email issues discovered and recommend solutions.
  • Work with email vendor to resolve and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
  • Stay informed on email marketing trends, changes in browser capabilities and multimedia development standards.
  • Recommend measures to improve work process methods to ensure the highest quality work output possible.
  • Assist in creating and updating department process documentation as needed.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on email development and delivery best practices.
  • Mentor Email Developers to create and enhance processes as needed to ensure consistent email development and best practices are followed across campaigns.
  • Assist in new project proposals as necessary.
  • Maintain and support all company standards as specified within the Quality Management System.
  • Supports/facilitates the mandatory adherence to ISO9001 requirements, processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Salesforce (previously ExactTarget) email campaign software experience is a plus, including AMPscript, Journey Builder.
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver).
  • Solid understanding of HTML development.  CSS experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Responsive Design.
  • 1+ years relational database experience (SQL Server, Access, Oracle).
  • Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of three years of experience with end-to-end developing, testing, and deploying email marketing campaigns.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed job responsibilities.
