Primary Job Function:
The Network Security Architect is responsible for researching, designing and implementing secure business-focused solutions that meet or exceed corporate policies and government mandates. This includes developing roadmap and migration strategies for existing architecture.

Core Job Responsibilities
Research, design and advocate new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers
Work closely with enterprise architects, other functional area architects, and specialists to ensure adequate security solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements
In-depth understanding of network hardware configuration, networking protocols, networking standards, hardening standards, and network architecture.
Communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, oral and written, in an easily-understood, authoritative, and actionable manner

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree plus 3+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Degree in Computer Science or related discipline a plus but not required.
Formal certification in security and/or privacy management, including but not limited to, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CIPP/EU/US, and/or CISA is a plus

Minimum Experience and training:
Knowledge of
cybersecurity concepts (threats, vulnerabilities, risk, confidentiality, integrity, availability, cryptography, network security, web security, etc.)
Networking devices/systems – firewall, IPS, Stealthwatch, Cisco Client,
Cloud environments such as AWS environments, Azure cloud
Strong understanding of industry standards such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53, CIS Top 20 Critical Security Controls (formerly SANS).
Experience with manufacturing plant IT networks.
Ability to present to diverse business and technical audiences and "sell” cybersecurity to those who may not be educated on cybersecurity risks impacting the business

Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Exposure to a wide variety of technologies and applications.
