My direct client is looking for a Business Data Analyst to join their growing team!

Title: Business Data Analyst and Reporting
Location: Moorestown, NJ
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Rate: DOE
Start: ASAP

Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
  1. Marketing and business analyst capable of interfacing with multiple departments (i.e., accounting, marketing, purchasing and sales departments) to perform the following.
    1. Routinely meet with department heads to define project and reporting goals.
    2. Execute project and reporting goals and analyze results in order to identify trends, abnormalities and whether the target goals were achieved.
    3. Prepare summarized written reports of results for use by upper management.
  2. Ability to create and organize data within Microsoft Excel workbooks to use for reporting purposes and the ability to add customization to the workbooks using the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications programming language and the Ribbon XML features. The workbooks will be used to:
    1. Retrieve data from data sources such as Microsoft SQL Server and Access databases and flat files.
    2. Generate custom reports to meet the needs of the Sales, Purchasing, Accounting and Marketing departments.
    3. Maintain, debug, and test existing workbooks used by all departments.
  3. Provide programming support to the IT department. Therefore the applicant must possess the ability to understand relational databases and work within the Microsoft SQL Server environment to create and manipulate stored procedures and views.
  1. Applicants should have at least a bachelor's degree in a business / computer integrated field (e.g., information systems management, or business analytics, or some other related field) from an accredited college or university. Consideration may be given to applicants with an associate's degree and internship experience.
  2. Creative thinking to develop reporting tools requested by all departments and the ability think outside of the box to create effective solutions to problems. Also applicants should be able to analyze large volumes of data and spot data trends in order to solve to problems.
  3. Strong analytical thinking skills with respect to understanding, debugging and manipulating complex computer code.
Certifications for specific programming languages or for vendor-specific programming products are not required but will be taken into consideration.

In addition, consideration will be given to given to actual work experience.
