Job Overview

The Systems Engineer independently designs, tests, implements, troubleshoots and maintains infrastructure architectures to include hardware platforms, client applications, server services and Windows operating systems. This role will also advise management on new direction of hardware infrastructure, as it applies to local, regional and global operations as well as analyzing current enterprise and making recommendations for capacity planning and performance tuning based on corporate goals and alignments. The Systems Engineer with provide 3rd level support for resolution of Infrastructure-related issues and will be responsible for evaluating, testing and making recommendations on new/upgrades to hardware, OS, network and applications and their impact on existing system configurations. The role will also independently research and resolve complex technical problems, create document standards, implementation of procedures and troubleshooting processes. The Systems Engineer may also act as Project Manager on one or more projects and partner with Business to translate customer requirements and recommend system solutions including architecture and costs.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • 5+ years' experience in systems engineering, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Experience with SCCM, specifically centered around windows patching, application deployment, operating system deployment (i.e. Imaging), managing distribution points, monitoring, some policy management, etc.
  • Experience with Active Directory Infrastructure with a focus on managing domain controllers, sites & services (subnets), etc. as well as experience with Group Policy Management (trusted Sites, Internet Explorer, Printers, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in Identity Support as it relates to AD, O365, Azure AD Connect, MFA and SAML.
  • Experience with Powershell Script Administration dealing with miscellaneous scripts to monitoring, threshold warnings (passwords), SMTP relay authentication, etc. 
  • Dirsync Administration is a plus    
  • Extensive experience with Server Infrastructure (clustered Hyper-V infrastructure utilizing NetApp/SAN)
  • Experience with FSRM Ransomware Protection is a plus 
  • Ability to manage Email Security (DMARC, SPF, DKIM, Mimecast, O365)
  • Websense is a plus

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides enterprise level support and management for Windows Infrastructure and all server hardware, including remote IT sites which contain server hardware.
  • Designs, tests, implements, troubleshoots and maintains server hardware and components to include services, performance technologies and health/risk assessments as it applies to the enterprise.
  • Analyzes current enterprise and makes recommendations for capacity planning, performance tuning and design issues.
  • Design, develop, and articulate solutions based on a strategic business or technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure engineered solutions are aligned to company standards.
  • Work on multiple complex projects, responsible for driving multiple projects and phases of a project to completion.
  • Provide support for Corporate Infrastructure and Client facing solutions.
  • Design and maintain system security.
  • Develop and implement business solutions using Powershell, VBScripts, GPOs, etc.
  • Independently researches and resolves highly complex technical problems.
  • Maintains current patches, updates and versions for responsible architectures and applications.
  • Enforce Windows Server administration standards, policies and guidelines and develop and implement them as the needs are identified and prioritized.
  • Provide guidance to the Infrastructure leads at the plant locations.
  • Troubleshoot server and hardware issues and escalate as required.
  • Maintain continuously updated documentation.
  • Participate in the selection of services and products from a variety of vendors. 
  • Work may extend beyond normal business operating hours.
