The Role:
Our client is looking for an ideal Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about DevOps, has a blend of development and operational experience that provides them with empathy to have a good understanding of the developers they are working with, while also balancing customer satisfaction and maintaining critical system uptime. The engineer is biased toward action yet able to strike the right balance between appropriate levels of process, automation, and security in a fast-paced development environment.
As a member of the our client's SRE team, you will build deployment automation that enables the automated configuration, management, and scalability of Cloud microservices and infrastructure processes.
  • You'll develop and improve CI/CD automation pipeline using Docker, Gitlab, Ansible, Jenkins and Python/Go.
  • You'll deploy and orchestrate AWS Infrastructure using services like Lambda, SQL, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • You'll monitor and detect issues using tools like Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, New Relic, and PagerDuty.
  • You'll drive operational improvements as application design requirements back to your software engineering partners.
Are you our Star DevOps Engineer?
  • You've gained 5-8 years of professional experience developing software.
  • You've earned a degree in Computer Science or STEM field.
  • You've written scripts in one or more languages such as Python or Go.
  • You've maintained internet facing applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • You have a robust Ops foundation - you're always thinking "What happens if this fails” when you build things.
  • You have a demonstrated capacity for creative, resourceful problem solving and the ability to achieve tangible results.
  • You are able to debug PHP applications.
Bonus Points:
  • You have experience working with Load Balancers and Firewalls and web standards (REST, JSON).
  • You have an understanding of open source software like NGINX, Kubernetes, Docker, ElasticSearch, and Ansible.
  • You have experience with standard IT security practices such as Access, Authorization, Key Management, and Encryption.
