The User Experience Architect (XA) plays a key role in the creation of website experiences. The XA works with the UX director and senior experience architects in the development of interaction requirements, use cases, customer flows, navigation systems, page wireframes, and product taxonomy. To arrive at the final experience, the XA conducts stakeholder interviews, website reviews, content inventories, consumer research (via consumer definition, usability testing, tree testing, etc.). Through user-centered design and design-thinking methods, they identify design priorities, work through challenging scenarios, define interaction requirements and align them to short and long-term releases. The XA must be able to envision and articulate new ways for consumers to engage and interact with our clients' brand. The experience architect must understand the nuances and relationship between aesthetics, usability, content strategy, front-end technologies and what it takes to connect it all to the very real implications of the platform. The role includes accountability for on-time/on-budget project performance and managing day-to-day project tasks and the quality of those deliverables.

1. Design Competency
• Proficient in the UX design craft.
• Proficient in ecommerce systems, interaction models and user centered design.
• Proficient in content architecture, content strategy, marketing and brand building.
• Able to participate in processes and speak to contemporary trends.
• Able to interpret client needs and create successful design solutions.
• Routinely delivers high-quality, high-production design and meets deadlines.
• Creates sketches or screen layouts to communicate direction for the interface design.

2. Design Software and Platforms
• Proficient in the latest wireframe/prototyping software (Axure, Omnigraffle, Sketch, Marvel). 
• Proficient in the execution of usability research software and services.
• Peripheral knowledge of (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat).
• Peripheral knowledge of contemporary web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Responsive Frameworks, SVG, Web Accessibility.
• Working knowledge of ecommerce design and platforms (preferably Demandware, Magento and Hybris)

3. Process & Documentation
• Follows operating processes and procedures (time entry, expenses, etc.).
• Demonstrates sound decision making and efficient use of time.
• Manages project files and assets, creates meeting agendas.
• Manages priorities; distinguishes important and unimportant, avoids spreading self too thin.
• Manages process; knows who to involve on what issues.
• Responds to project needs with appropriate sense of urgency.

• Manages individual hours, timeline, deliverables, design reviews, etc. (to team leads and members).
• Effectively manages design implications on downstream development hours.
• Willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines when required.

4. Presentation Skills
• Developing presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Effectively prepares presentations for design reviews. Clearly articulates thoughts; design strategies, decisions, trade-offs, and is able to effectively and persuasively present work.
• Instills confidence and dependability among clients and team members.

5. Team Participation
• Proactive in the management of utilization (seeks out work and forecasts workload).

Education: Four year design degree Experience
• 1+ years of experience architect or similar website design experience.
