Primary Function:
The role of the instructional designer is to provide guidance and assistance to team members in the course development process (analysis, design, production, implementation and evaluation) in a manner that promotes sound instructional design principles. The instructional designer will use production tools to develop course content and graphic elements for both digital and print media. The instructional designer must also provide input about overall, systematic course development strategy on an on-going basis.

Major Responsibilities:
Identify appropriate instructional strategies and define learning objectives; Instructional design work, including guidance for stakeholders on instruction sequence, engaging the learner, interface design, assessments, and similar matters; Proactive consultation and collaboration with subject matter experts to identify and obtain instructional and learning objectives and content; Identify and implement innovative, leading-edge methodologies; Design, author, and edit complex eLearning, virtual, blended and classroom curriculum programs and learning aids; Specialized in writing and communicating professional training content for a global sales audience; Provide advanced application of multimedia design and development, including graphic design, audio/video; Collaborate with and provide status reports to Global Commercial Training team lead; Support instructors with questions regarding training design and content and any train-the-trainer activities; Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system; Follow Diagnostics Division standards and guidelines for education products during creation, development and control of all materials; Research, develop, review and edit materials that are consistent with curriculum design and current procedures and methods


MUST HAVE SKILLS
Design learning assets: Advanced user in Captivate, PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Storyline. Develop illustrations, graphics, and animations for both Instructor Led Training and Computer Based Training. Be able to develop new media (including CBTs, print, virtual) and modify existing templates to improve learning.
Experience in developing sales training (specifically with sales cadence, sales process), facilitator and participant guides, and virtual training design and delivery techniques. Be able to filter/analyze content from huge amount of information and identify need-to-know vs. nice-to-know. Be flexible, open-minded, and adaptable to changes. Work with aggressive timelines. Take direction effectively and professionally with Senior Leadership. Must be able to think clearly, write concisely and have effective communication skills. Demonstrate ability to produce great graphics and animations for effective learning tools. Knowledge of adult learning principles.

PREFERRED SKILLS: 
Adobe FrameMaker, Fireworks 5.5, Articulate, Adobe Flash CS 5.5, Sales training background desired. 

EDUCATION Requirement
Bachelor's degree or certification in in Education, Instructional Design; Instructional Technology; Training and Development or related fields; 7-9 years experience of training/instructional design or related experience
