The Manager, Network and Telephony Engineering will lead a small team in the design and delivery of reliable, scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective data and voice solutions across ALG's dynamic global enterprise. This role will ensure all committed objectives are met adhering to approved standards, budgets and deadlines. In addition to leading the team, this position will also have responsibilities as an individual contributor, performing technical Network/Telephony Engineer tasks.

This cross-functional leader will be responsible for developing, defining and implementing solutions that maximize operational efficiency and performance while ensuring the highest levels of uptime and reliability. He/She will drive efficiencies through automation, repeatable processes, and reducing rework. Budgetary responsibilities include proposing, tracking, and optimizing network/telephony spend.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of direct reports.
  • Establish and track priorities and commitments for technical staff. Report status to IT Leadership
  • Provide budget content and manage the procurement of products/services. Ensure fiscal responsibility, balancing cost and benefits. Manage vendors and telecommunications carriers.
  • Ensure tier 3 operational support coverage.
2.Technical Leadership
  • Own end-to-end delivery of network/voice technology, ensuring maximum performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Drive and align innovative enterprise-wide telecommunication (data/voice) solutions, encompassing physical, virtual, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, and hybrid environments.
  • Identify KPIs and develop related metrics to recognize trends, thresholds, and predictors to improve performance, stability and/or prevent incidents. Lead formal review, analysis and recommendation process.
  • Drive repeatable, efficient, quality results through automation. Develop system integration test to verify operational integrity.
  • Develop, maintain and enforce standards, policies and procedures to ensure the infrastructure is properly and consistently deployed, managed and maintained across the global enterprise.
  • Ensure compliance with established ALG security and availability standards
  • Research and advocate new technologies, designs, and products to maintain a modern infrastructure and add value to the enterprise.
  • Review and approve proposed network/voice configuration changes ensuring potential risks are identified and mitigated prior to execution.
  • Drive timely and meaningful resolution of complex, multi-system problems.
3.Technical Delivery
  • Design, build, test, implement and maintain telecommunication (data/voice) infrastructure. Perform telecommunication modeling and capacity planning.
  • Upgrade network/telephony hardware and software components as required. Evaluate infrastructure for performance, scalability, manageability and security improvement opportunities.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation related to architecture, designs, procedures, standards, vendor product selection and integration.

  • Strong data network engineering background with hands on experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN data solutions servicing a complex global organization.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of common network service, protocols, and technologies such as BGP/OSPF, QoS, DNS, DHCP, Network routing, switching, firewalls, etc
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting a complex telephony environment, including call control, dial-plan, voicemail, call center, etc.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing telephony circuits (SIP, PRI, etc.)
  • Experience designing, delivering, and troubleshoot physical and virtual load balancer solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding of system resiliency, redundancy, failovers and disaster recovery
  • Experience delivering and supporting network solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Familiarity with leading edge technologies such as software defined networking and intelligent firewalls.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted telephony solutions and integration.
  • Proven ability to support application troubleshooting providing data flow visibility.
  • Motivated self-starter able to excel in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed enterprise
  • Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels and across all business units/organizations.

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technology/engineering discipline
  • 12+ years of overall IT experience
  • 4+ years of experience directly leading a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Demonstrable experience supporting CI/CD development environments
    • Automation, Infrastructure as code experience.
    • Previous experience transiting to Cloud-hosted Telephony solution
    • Strong understanding of Infrastructure outside of telecommunication domain
