Purpose of Role
The Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for initiation, management and delivery of a project to move an on-premise safety pharmacovigilance platform to the Cloud (i.e. through the full lifecycle from business case development through to implementation, go live and closure). The successful candidate will work directly with the US Head of IT, Group Head of PMO, Quality and Compliance and other internal business and IT stakeholders.
Responsibilities
· Develop the business case for the project in conjunction with key business and IT stakeholders and the finance team, ensuring robust benefit realisation and commercialisation plans are in place.
· Take full accountability for the successful delivery of the project - creating project plans, ensuring clear scope definition, engaging the necessary stakeholders (including the SI partner), forming and leading the project team as required.
· Work with procurement on commercial negotiations of system integrator partners and/or professional advisors required to deliver the project.
· Establish and manage an appropriate and effective governance structure for the project that is effective at all levels and aligns with key divisional/corporate governance structures.
· Manage project progress and status to ensure that the project is delivered within agreed scope, quality, time and budget parameters.
· Monitor overall project progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate with key stakeholders.
· Prepare monthly corporate project reports setting out project progress vs plan, key risks, items for escalation, time and cost projections and benefit updates.
· Report to Group PMO, senior management, steering committees, IT and business stakeholders on project progress – chairing project meetings as appropriate.
· Manage robust processes for risks, issues and dependencies within and external to the project and ensure they are pro-actively identified, logged and tracked with clear owners, review dates and mitigations.
· Manage project change control and maintain change control records and justifications.
· Ensure clear roles and responsibilities and criteria are defined for project decision making and escalation processes. Ensure timely escalation to senior management of any major project risks and issues.
· Source and secure necessary project resources with required skills and capabilities.
· Manage and control the project budget and related expenditure, liaising closely with the finance team.
· Manage a diverse range of program stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.
· Adhere to industry best practices for project management office (PMO) structures, methodologies and project governance models within the business – including the implementation of stage gates throughout the project lifecycle.
· Manage handover of the project to the business ensuring appropriate support arrangements and training is in place.

Key Deliverables for the Role
· Delivery of all assigned projects and programs to agreed budget, benefit, quality, timeline and scope parameters.
· Ensure that the IT projects and programs on the IT portfolio contribute to and support delivery of the overall business strategy.
· Management of dispersed project teams in a matrix structure (consisting of project managers, IT and business professionals and technical teams).
· Adhere to agreed project management office (PMO) and project governance structures and methodologies for UDG Healthcare plc.
Competencies & Experience required
· Minimum of 8 years IT project management experience with a proven track record in the delivery of IT enabled business change.
· Certification in project management is essential.
· Experience at a senior level in project/program management in a mature organisation is essential. Big 4 / Banking background preferable.
· Demonstrable experience of managing multi-disciplinary, cross functional teams (IT and business professionals and contractors) to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
· Must have experience as an IT Project Manager through the full life-cycle of the project (from project initiation to implementation) with a detailed knowledge of SDLC.
· Proven track record in successful safety system / Cloud program delivery on time and to budget within a diverse global organisation. Oracle Argus 8 preferable.
· Excellent Stakeholder Management and communication skills to build impact and influence.
· Experience of vendor management of major software vendors and system integrators.
· Experience of delivery of life science projects to comply with GAMP 5, GxP and FDA 21 cfr part 11 validation regulations is a distinct advantage.
· Experience of motivating and leading project teams and multiple concurrent projects (in a matrix organisation).
· Experience of working successfully under pressure, managing complex projects, managing ambiguity and creating clarity.
· Ability to work on own initiative when setting up and delivering projects.
· Teamwork, collaboration and the ability to build effective partnerships with both business and IT stakeholders at all levels of an organisation is an essential requirement of this role.
· Some travel may be required as part of this role.

Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science, Information Science, business, engineering or related discipline.
· Minimum of 8+ years' senior experience managing IT Projects.
· PMP or related project management qualification is essential.
  • Healthcare / Pharmaceutical / Regulatory experience would also be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage dispersed teams (consisting of project managers, IT and business professionals and technical teams).
