Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP of Digital, the Director, Digital Marketing will be responsible for overseeing online marketing programs and will play an instrumental role in managing, strategizing, planning, and executing Digital Marketing initiatives, including but not limited to: paid search, paid social, paid display, video, and affiliate marketing. This role is responsible for generating profitable revenue through these initiatives for specific product categories and/or segments with a focus on reaching long and short-term business objectives. This position is also responsible for managing, leading and developing the team of digital marketing professionals to ensure successful project execution of the Marketing strategy.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with landing page optimizations, cross-device strategy, attribution tracking and reporting, marketing campaign launches, and agency partner relationship management.
Additionally, this person will be a self-starter, with the ability to think strategically, be collaborative, problem solve, ideate and innovate, and be a champion for Digital Marketing initiatives.
People Management
  • Responsible for developing talent including actively developing strengths/opportunities, identifying blockers and recommending career pathing opportunities.
  • Lead team in achieving in-year strategic and financial goals including completion of opportunity/results analysis and presentation of results/plans.
  • Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline/department.
  • Manage best in class Digital Media agency and hold them accountable to meeting performance expectations of the media investments.
Initiative Ownership
  • Lead development of strategies to drive traffic, leads and applications to TruStage.com by leveraging customer research, market conditions and competitive insights.
  • Translate strategic and financial objectives into media priorities for the team, key cross-functional partners and agencies.
  • Leverage a range of digital tactics including Paid Search, Display Advertising, Affiliates, and Paid Social placements.
  • Influencing and involving others in the decision-making process. Clearly communicate with constituents using a wide range of methods (written, verbal, formal presentation).
  • Works collaboratively with internal partners (eCommerce, Analytics, Creative) to develop creative, content and landing page strategies.
  • Works across multiple departments, including insights, technology, product, and customer marketing to assist in digital media optimization
  • Leads measurement, reporting and storytelling of Digital Marketing investments
  • Leverages agile methodology to evaluate conversion points and optimize user funnels.
  • Lead and interpret financial components of digital media, product/program marketing, including profit and loss statements, budget process and ROI calculations.
  • Stay on top of industry trends, new technologies and be a thought leader for keeping the company at the forefront of development in digital marketing.
  • Gains understanding of the life insurance market and familiarity with competitors digital marketing strategies, website, and quote engine UX
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in marketing with emphasis on development of marketing strategies and multi-channel marketing management.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, social media and/or display advertising campaigns.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels.
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments.
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g., DART, Flashtalking).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, manage and execute strategic marketing plans and budgets.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and holistically about the digital marketing landscape
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, managing and directing employees and/or external vendors.
  • Strong business acumen – ability to understand business fundamentals and implications of change.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinker with innovative capacity. Ability to handle complexity and ambiguity, and provide structure to complex problems.
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and build collaborative relationships.
