Tax Analyst

A leader in the IT Staffing Industry, Mondo has a very exciting opportunity for a Tax Analyst Role. This role will report directly to the CFO and will have an opportunity to professionally grow within the Finance team. This position provides comprehensive payroll and employment tax compliance, audit assistance, research, and US tax information reporting. Mondo's Boston office is situated within a newly renovated loft space at 239 Causeway Street, desirably located within a block of North Station and the North End.

Salary: 65-85K - based on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct responsibility for payroll and employment tax compliance, defense of tax returns on audit, research of technical compensation and related tax issues, account reconciliations, and SOX documentation and compliance – with proper notification to key stakeholders.
  • Keep compliance calendar up to date to help ensure that tax filings are made timely.
  • Prepare sales/use and business personal property tax returns for various states
  • Respond to correspondence from IRS and state and local tax authorities
  • Prepares federal, state, city income, franchise tax returns and excise tax returns for MFS mutual funds.
  • Review Federal /state tax returns, quarterly estimates and extension payments prepared by outside accounting firm
  • Consult with ADP regarding set up of tax withholding for state and local jurisdictions
  • Maintains current knowledge of SEC and IRS compliance and tax law requirements- responsible for timely communication and implementation of tax law changes. Provide guidance regarding all changes.
  • Provide information and coordinate efforts internally to ensure that Mondo is in compliance with payroll and compensation tax laws, regulations and requirements
  • Performs other related responsibilities as requested.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education. Accounting degree or CPA/CPP a plus
  • 3-5 years of payroll tax experience, in a fast-paced corporate setting
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable federal, state and municipal laws, regulations and compliance rules
  • High standard of commitment and personal integrity
  • Good attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong business writing skills and strong oral communication skills.
