My direct client has an immediate need for a Change Management Communications Manager.

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Salary: Open
Start Date: ASAP

  • To develop, implement and execute an effective and integrated communications and engagement strategy and plan to enable the delivery of the Analytics business transformation vision, strategy and operating plans, including technology, "lead to cash”, finance and other projects
  • To ensure all communications and engagement activity achieves desired audience impact and effective ROI 
  • To provide professional communications and engagement advice and guidance to the transformation leadership in support of the business transformation agenda 
  • To ensure self and team development is fully consistent with the technical and behavioural performance requirements of Analytics.
Strategy and Planning
  • Develop & deliver a comprehensive and integrated communication strategy that enables the business transformation vision, strategy and business plan and supports the overarching  internal & change communications strategy and contribute to key transformation strategy statements
  • Produce a communications plan reflecting BAU/Change activity and audience focus to support efficient delivery and prioritisation of communications and engagement activity
  • Working closely with change managers and project leads advise on best practice change communication approaches, aligned to change management plans.
Audience Analysis/Messaging
  • Develop and maintain a clear, simple and compelling core narrative for the business transformation initiative; ensure alignment with Technology, Finance, Sales and other core functional narratives
  • Develop key message framework that underpins BAU and transformation agendas, service portfolio, culture and ways of working: ensure key messages are regularly reviewed and included appropriately in all IT communications 
  • Applies sound stakeholder mapping and prioritisation techniques to all communications (BAU and Change); maintains good level of understanding and insight around key end user audiences including IT community, wider professional services staff, Sales, Finance and Marketing 
  • Work with project teams to map relevant audiences, highlighting areas of overlap across the key programme areas 
  • Run CRM/MAP tools for target communications delivery
  • Ensure business leaders are kept informed and up to date on the communications implications of corporate, finance and IT specific issues that impact on the successful delivery of the transformation plan: prepare, brief and support leaders in delivery of appropriate response
  • Review and develop optimum internal channel strategy to ensure communication delivery (digital, print, face to face, networks etc.) is audience-focused and achieves maximum reach and impact.
  • Develop and implement range of communication and engagement measurement and evaluation techniques to determine activity reach and impact
  • Regularly review feedback and results, assessing implications, and securing agreement to changes required from transformation leaders
  • This role appears to be primarily focus on strategy, planning, analysis and messaging.  An entire section is missing on Doing or Execution of the communication activities.  We need a doer.   Here are some simple examples.  I am sure the team can easily expand/refine.:
Management/Delivery/Execution of Communication Deliverables
  • Create high-quality, engaging communications campaigns and deliverables (e.g., blog posts, emails, town halls, presentations, etc.)
  • Manage, support agenda creation and development content for any operating mechanism that are set-up to  manage stakeholder engagement and communications including senior leadership forums, Business Process Owners (next level leadership) and super user network.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally and the business to adjust communication requirements and deliverables as appropriate
  • Monitor performance of communications and business readiness program, manage risks, issues, dependencies and report out on progress to project sponsors
  • Set and meet deadlines while managing expectations with leadership for communication deliverables
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to draft effective messages in multiple formats (FAQs, instructional guides, presentations, web)

Education / qualification and training
  • Qualification in communications/PR or related professional discipline  
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal)
  • Thinks strategically; able to translate business aims into effective communication enablers
  • Able to work equally well on their own and as part of a team
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including facilitation
  • Understanding of best practice communications in an change management/transformation environment  
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Adopts a trusted advisor approach in building strong relationships across a range of different communities and stakeholders 
  • Solid experience in the design, development and delivery of communications strategies with a focus on business transformation 
  • Developed and implemented full range of communication channel options including and specifically digital 
  • Has led and developed a virtual communications network
  • Strong track record in leading and managing change communications including those driven by major business transformation 
  • Significant experience in a corporate/internal communications mid-tier role
