Job Description
The Account Manager is responsible for supporting the Sr. Account Manager (SAM) and Account Director (AD) and helping to manage the company's overall relationship with the account. The emphasis is on ensuring that day to day client deliverables are handled with professionalism and knowledge and processed through the agency in line with agency processes, leading to a positive client response and delivery. Responsibilities also include working with the development team developing business proposals to ensure that the strategy is fully realized in the applications which are delivered. The Account Manager must also maintain knowledge of interactive marketing best practices and pharmaceutical marketing.  Account Managers need to be able to learn and adapt quickly, be able to solve problems both collectively and independently and be able to view business problems strategically.  Individuals need to be self-motivated and entrepreneurial and able to thrive in a highly collaborative environment.

Essential Functions:
  • Understand the client's business, the business objectives, and the client's needs 
  • Provide direction to clients and internal teams in the area of interactive pharmaceutical marketing 
  • Define/architect strategic and tactical plans that increase the value of client brands/products 
  • Develop new ideas that build the value of pharmaceutical brands 
  • Develop (winning) new business development proposals and presentations in response to customer needs and/or requests 
  • Data analysis of market information to assist in developing new strategies and optimizing current strategies.  Data analysis will include web metrics, market research, and the development of ROI models 
  • Own the SOW creation process with input from SAM/AD and Operations/PM team 
  • Write the scope section of the SOW 
  • Own the pricing process and participate in pricing meetings 
  • Participate in transition meetings with PM 
  • Attend internal kickoff meetings and lead client discovery phase of project; prepare for external client meetings, assisting PM with agenda, planning, and goals of the meeting 
  • Develop the strategic brief and consolidate the strategic and creative briefs into one document for client review; present to client and obtain their sign-off 
  • Lead/guide the development team to ensure effectiveness of implementation 
  • Work with the PM and IA on program schematics – Flowchart and Wireframe 
  • Ensure script is aligned with direction, goals, objectives, and is accurate and appropriate in wording and claims. Give feedback and oversee revisions prior to SAM/AD  review 
  • Review comps and deliverables as determined by the review plan and provide feedback in a timely manner 
  • Participate in comp presentation meetings with client and lead designer 
  • Participate in meetings to review deliverables with a focus on compliance with strategic objectives and goals as established in the review plan 
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve company performance by improving processes and/or adding company offerings 
  • Help client and internal resources prioritize deliverables in times of conflicting demands 
  • Responsible for overall account relationship (supporting SAM/AD), cultivating new brand and account relationships, as well as non-brand contacts such as IT, purchasing, etc. 
  • Process metrics and prepare client presentations with key implications and new opportunities for the agency to pursue 
  • Prepare financial documents, working with PM and Finance to foster a positive financial relationship with the client 
  • Foster teamwork and a constructive work environment.  Provide team direction representing the client's needs to the agency team and representing the agency team to the client being mindful of restrictions and agency processes 
  • Meet or exceed the utilization target of 70% (or as required by specific engagement)

Required Skills
  • Account Management skills required 
  • Strong knowledge of web strategy, design, development, and programming technologies 
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and manage multiple clients within deadlines 
  • Possess proactive approach to organic business development and in presenting interactive marketing innovations to clients and prospects 
  • Travel to active clients and assigned pre-sales opportunities (1x  - 5x per month)
Required Experience
  • BS/BA in related field 
  • 5-7 years experience in pharmaceutical strategy, marketing, interactive, and business modeling 
  • Experience with creating new ideas and solutions, and, applying existing ideas in new ways to solve pharmaceutical business problems 
  • Experience demonstrating innovation in interactive pharmaceutical marketing 
  • Excellent communication skills including written communications, speaking, and presentation development and delivery
