Job Summary:
The Website Developer is an active member of the Technology Solutions (TS) department and reports to the Technology Solutions Manager. The Website Developer is responsible for the design, functionality, and usability of all client's websites. He/she works closely with other members of the TS department to create and maintain highly functional, scalable, optimized, and easily-navigated websites. He/she develops and maintains web pages for all of the company's CME/CE activities. He/she assists the TS Manager in identifying opportunities for web product development and new technology product opportunities with a goal to streamline deliverables, enhance the company image, or increase product marketability. In this role, he/she conducts product and website design, programming, and web development.
The Website Developer is also responsible to conduct TS service desk operations, including internal and external customer support related to the use of client's websites, servers, and workstations. In this capacity, he/she is responsible to deliver excellent customer service for phone and electronic technical support, forwarding any security issues or dissatisfaction to the attention of the Technology Solutions Manager. He/she also provides primary support to all staff regarding computer hardware and software technical problems and questions.
Position Duties:
  • Perform continual tracking of the internal Admin system for timely development and integration of program materials and content into web pages for new or updated educational programs
  • Conduct development and implementation of web-enabled recruitment, such as e-blasts, e-newsletters and related campaigns
  • Maintain efficient and quality-driven IT service deck operations, including providing first-line telephone and email customer support regarding customer web-based questions, errors, and problems.
  • Conduct dynamic website checks to ensure appropriate working order
  • Independently perform website design and development as identified by the Technology Solutions Manager
  • Monitor users and database registrations on the website to ensure integrity of contact information, use of site, and to identify ongoing improvements
  • Maintain customer support through review, evaluation and integration of web systems
  • Dynamically troubleshoot staff computer hardware and software problems in a timely manner
  • Assist the TS Manager in identifying opportunities for web product development and new technology product opportunities, and develop betas as assigned
  • Assist in tasks assigned by the Technology Solutions Manager
  • Provide multimedia responsibilities before, during, and after video shoots, including lighting, videography, or other tasks as assigned
  • Provide support to the Multimedia Coordinator and Graphic Designer as assigned by the Technology Solutions Manager
  • Participate in company committee meetings as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or undergraduate candidate with work experience equivalent
  • Prefer 3 years' experience designing and developing high-performance websites
  • Prefer 3 years' experience writing custom, optimized PHP classes and functions
  • Prefer 1 years' experience writing, utilizing and optimizing SQL/MySQL queries
  • Proficiency with entire LAMP stack
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule in order to perform customer and IT support or videography support outside of normal working hours
  • Proficiency with Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Ajax, JSON
  • Experience with third-party tools such as Wordpress, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Experience designing websites for legacy browsers (IE7+) and using new technologies such as HTML5 or WebGL Familiarity with the many nuances of HTML email design across all platforms
  • Familiarity with version control (Git, SVN, or Mercurial)
  • Understanding of W3C standards and 508 compliant web design
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Premiere, Acrobat and SSH/Shell
  • Intimate knowledge and understanding of the Internet, programming, customer support mechanisms, analytics, web analysis, and multiple web scripts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and customer problem solving skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
