The Director of Audience Marketing is responsible for developing, implementing and advancing the communication strategies, campaigns and capabilities our client's audience marketing team to meet our audience acquisition, engagement, and lifetime value initiatives. The Director of Audience Marketing mission is to bring digital, with a heavy emphasis on email, best practices to our core audience segments through deep channel expertise and data-driven execution knowledge in support of our growing event and channel subscription initiatives. The ideal candidate will be someone skilled at driving a vision for audience marketing, reaching out across the business to develop relationships and partnerships that enable success, and working proactively and creatively around challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy: Define key metrics and goals for audience marketing efforts to meet and exceed deliverables including community growth and event registration and attendance. Drive continuous process improvement enduring the development, ongoing improvement, and deployment of best practices around email and other forms of digital marketing.

Drive Product Results: Mange development, hypotheses and execution of email testing programs, providing takeaways and recommendations to improve our audience registration and attendance marketing programs. Report on and analyze campaigns against KPIs.

Operational Excellence: Oversee the successful management of projects, including live and virtual event audience development and digital lead generation. Work in tandem with sales, engineering, content development, and client management to deliver a qualified, targeted audience. Lead a team of 15 including marketing managers and coordinators to exceed client expectations.

Management: Manage a team of marketers to deliver best in class campaigns. Provide leadership to direct reports, proactively developing team members within the organization and setting up opportunities for learning and growth.

Collaboration: Collaborate with digital marketers, digital content producers, and other internal partners to devise appropriate cross-channel efforts and communication streams meeting community growth and event attendance targets.

  • Minimum of seven years of digital marketing experience with at least two years in a management/team leadership role
  • Must have a history working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and be capable of juggling several priorities simultaneously
  • Significant experience with marketing automation platforms (Eloqua, Pardot, etc.); prior experience with helpful
  • Proven capability to hire and lead a team of talented, achievement-oriented, and client-focused marketers
  • Hands-on experience leading inbound and outbound digital marketing initiatives; heavy emphasis on email marketing management
  • Must have experience with community/database growth and management
  • Bachelors or equivalent in business, marketing or a related field;
  • Strong preference for candidates with B2B marketing services experience.
