Data Analyst/Data Scientist

My client is currently seeking a Data Analyst, Statistical Modeling with intermediate-level skills to support comprehensive analysis of media and business data. As a member of our Business Intelligence team, the Data Analyst will work with large data-sets from many sources to explore, interpret and quantify the relationship between media strategy, economic indicators and business outcomes. An applicant for this position should have a strong command of mathematics, statistical packages and libraries as well as basic database schemas and languages.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Business Intelligence to design and implement new analytical capabilities (e.g. integration with data sources, new media measurement techniques, etc.)
  • Facilitate ad hoc analyses and reporting
  • Produce advanced statistical modeling
  • Codify and share best practices across teams
  • Provide subject matter expertise to media teams
  • Provide feedback and input for Product Development efforts
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, with coursework in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • 1-2 years of experience with some combination of the following:
    • Statistics - R, Python pandas, SAS or similar statistical packages and analysis tools
    • Relational Databases - SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, etc.
    • Code – SQL, Python and/or Ruby
  • Familiarity with HTTP and REST APIs
  • Comfortable working with Linux / Unix-based OS
  • Experience working with large data sets and understanding of methodologies for analyzing data
  • Experience utilizing Tableau or similar software to create compelling infographics and visualizations
  • Proven ability to think creatively about challenging problems
  • Ability to self-manage, juggle multiple priorities, and pay strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to distill key ideas for a non-mathematical audience
