A client of ours in the Bethesda, MD area is looking for a seasoned Lead Network Security Engineer! This position is a new position with opportunity to grow within the company and contribute to building the direction of the entire security lifecycle. This person will be responsible for securing enterprise information by determining requirements and then planning, implementing and testing systems.

Minimum Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • CISSP, ISSA, CCSP or related security certification(s) valued.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Education:
  • 5 to 7 years of experience working in a network and/or security engineering role with a medium to large company.
  • Knowledge and experience (2+ years) in network security including firewalls, routers, web app firewalls, VPNs, content filtering (using WebSense), and knowledge and experience with eCommerce infrastructure around the network security end.
  • Advanced knowledge of network security infrastructure, risk analysis, data/voice communication systems, services and system/network configurations. Network operations, design, and systems management.
  • Expert level experience with Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls
  • Strong knowledge of Web and distributed systems (Oracle, J2EE, EJB, JSP, Swing, Java Servlets, JDBC, SQL, WebSphere, Hybris and WSAD; experience with XML, Data and Application Modeling).
  • Understanding of enterprise networks impact on application design and performance, scripting and full scale system implementation on Linux/Windows platforms.
  • Strong security product knowledge and conceptual understanding of current technologies such as firewalls, WAFS, VPNs, IDSs and other security devices.
  • Strong analytical skills (i.e., technical and non-technical problem solving skills).
  • Possess strong interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Strong ability to persuade, convince and influence others through collaboration.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of PCI and OWASP preferred.
  • Experience with security tools such as TWM: Pulse (VPN Technology), Cisco firewall, Palo A lot, Cisco ICE or Microsoft desktop and server
  • Experience with LAN SDWin
